About Newport Montessori
Newport Montessori is a small, private Montessori program serving children three to six years of age. We opened in September of 1999, are located in a conveniently situated facility in Middletown, and are licensed by the RI Department of Education. Our teachers are Montessori Certified by the Association Montessori International (AMI) and/or American Montessori Society (AMS).

The director, Mrs. Kate Voute Wright, is an experienced Montessori teacher with both the AMI and AMS training. She has taught Montessori to children 18 months to twelve years old and holds a Master’s in Education. AMI is the oldest authority on Montessori education worldwide. Newport Montessori’s materials, methodology, and philosophy are consistent with those set by the Association Montessori International (AMI), and the American Montessori Society (AMS).

Program hours are as follows:

Half day: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Full day: 9:00am – 2:00pm
